About Hoffman's Chocolates

In 1975 Paul Hoffman purchased a small candy shop in Lake Worth, Florida. His goal was to start a business that combined his two great loves, homemade chocolate and spending time with his family.

Dedicated to using only the best ingredients and century-old chocolate-making traditions, he would bring sweetness to Palm Beach county by opening four chocolate and ice cream shops.

In 2012, over an afternoon lunch with friends from BBX Capital, Paul’s family agreed to a plan that would grow their father’s chocolate-making legacy by introducing Hoffman’s Chocolates to the rest of South Florida and beyond.

American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Hoffman’s is absolutely wonderful!!!!!! I stopped in for ice cream and it was seriously so goodβ€”rich, creamy, and full of flavor. You can tell the quality is top-notch and handled with care. The shop itself is welcoming and the staff was friendly, which made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back to try more treats next time!

Hoffman's chocolates has been a wonderful South Florida staple for a very very long time. But they closed the Lake Worth store where they did all the local baking and had the winter lights show. I'm sure they had to close the shop because no one was able to shop there anymore, they are TOO EXPENSIVE!!! One turkey chocolate pop was $3.50 and it was after Thanksgiving! No thank you. Don't they understand that if they had lowered the price point they would've had more sales, more sales means more money, more money = shop stays open. That's a shame. Hoffman's is way out of my league. Godiva is actually more affordable for me than Hoffman's!

Went here with my kids yesterday. They were amazed at the sizes of their ice creams. One scoop felt like 3. I got a free ice cream from my loyalty card. Great experience all around!

We made a small purchase of chocolate covered pecans. When removed from the bag while outside the store, the candy displayed a whitish tinge. This is called chocolate bloom and was not visible on the stock in the display window. The store took it back. I am rating this store with an overall one star because the chocolate bloom evidences poor handling which can impair taste and texture. Also, there was a touch of unwarranted sarcasm from the store employee. I gave two stars for the service rather than one star only because the money was refunded. This was a disappointment because I used to count on this store for a quality product. It will be a long time before I return.

This was our umpteenth visit to the Delray Marketplace location for the ice cream!!!!!! The service is always outstanding, and today the store manager, Sherah Benton, took care of us. She was so friendly and helpful, and knew her stuff. No wonder all the staff are excellent at this location......because she probably trains them!!!!! She made sure we knew about the loyalty program, and we talked about the different ice creams. The staff always offers samples to us. The seating outside is nice with a good view of the Marketplace. Parking is easy in the front or back. This is always a nice Saturday afternoon treat for us.
